QVC says there are 30 days until Christmas and I can’t quite believe it. Thanksgiving is “late” in November this year, and this is traditionally my favorite week on the calendar. I’ve just made my SIXTH annual (wow!) “Longest Short Week” mix CD, to “help me get through a week that’s shorter than all the rest, but seems longer than any other”. I can not tell you how excited I am to have a FOUR-DAY weekend coming up.
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a long time may remember that a few years ago, I set out on a quest to watch/understand/appreciate Tarantino movies. I saw quite a few back then, but for a bunch of reasons we’ve gotten back into it lately. I’ve found that after having digested Tarantino’s style for a while, his films are much more appealing to me. I am finally starting to crack into the “brilliance” of Tarantino. We watched “True Romance” this weekend and I’ve been completely obsessed with the musical theme, composed by Hans Zimmer. It reeks of typical Tarantino “irony” (as in, doesn’t seem to fit) and I absolutely *love* it. Heaven help me – perhaps they’ll make a fan of me yet.
Andrew’s been sick with a cold that I’m sure we’ll catch just in time for the holiday, but on the bright side he’s been more willing to sit on our laps and snuggle. It *almost* makes up for the faucet-runny nose.
I’m looking forward to this Longest Short Week and praying that perhaps it won’t be five days of work crammed into three.
