I know. I haven’t posted here in forever. My husband has pointed it out several times, but since I’m still on Facebook & Twitter & Flickr & everywhere else, it’s probably not so noticeable that I’m not blogging. There’s no particular reason… we’re just keepin on keepin on.
So I have a new design. If you’re in a feed reader, pop out for a second and come join me. I’ve been working on various design ideas since early February, but nothing was sticking. I finally went with something clean and geometric and miminalistic. Please let me know if you see anything funky in your browser.
Work has been off the hook and I do much more than 30 hours’ worth of work in my 30 hours per week. Mama & Andrew are sick today, so it’s a bit of a down weekend, although we had a great time last night: Kyle’s company party was canceled at Christmas time so they rescheduled for Friday night. We enjoyed an open bar, a BBQ dinner, and bowling at the National Bowling Stadium. I think they had some IMAX-type movies playing as well, but we mainly went for the food and drinks – and bowling, because NBS isn’t open to the public and it might have been our only chance to bowl there. I hadn’t worn bowling shoes in years!
Valentine’s Day was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. My coworker threw a little dinner party at her house for four of us and our dates. You may have seen a few photos on Flickr… we all got terribly drunk and ate delicious tri-tip and had an 80s dance party and things got really wild when one girl’s second date showed up in addition to the first. It was a blast to get out and spend some time with really fun people – I happen to like my coworkers an awful lot, even though they are all at least 12 years older than us. You would never know it (to our credit, I think).
My son turned 14 months old yesterday and he is more hilarious and opinionated every day. He can communicate amazingly well for somebody who only has two words (see two posts below this one) – although lately he has been saying “buuh” (sounds like “book” without the ‘k’) for words that start with ‘b’, like belly button, book, barn, buttons, etc. He manages to make demands, talk back, tell me what to do, and be utterly defiant without even speaking English. He calls Kyle “mama” and he’s fearless, yet tender-hearted. He is about 112% boy and usually I enjoy it, although sometimes his boyness leaves me scratching my head and sometimes I feel like all he wants to do is wrestle and be flipped upside-down. Living with two boys is okay because now and then my husband indulges me with flowers and my son indulges me with a “mommy hug”.
I added a little Netflix badge to my sidebar so you can check out what we’re watching with my latest hobby. I’m not much of a movie person but it turns out there are so many I want to watch when I really start thinking about it. With all of this DVD-watching, we haven’t had much time for anything really important. There is a basket full of Andrew clothes that are partially folded and need to be put away (I’ve been pulling fresh clothes out of the basket for a few days – ack!). I need to pay bills, balance, and clean out the filing cabinets for the new year. I haven’t scrapbooked Christmas yet (there is clearly no way I could ever scrap more than ONE event per year). And we haven’t even thought about taxes. Shoot, all of this is making my brain hurt. Off to a hot bath and my new US Weekly.
